NOTE: I took byways for most of these destinations, but most are accesible by highways and exits. Though to get true Americana, the blacktop monsters aren't the best way. CHICAGO, IL to HUNTINGTON, IN Route: Take U.S. 41 (Lake Shore Drive) South. We made it to Chattahoochee, Florida our 1st day. David thought that "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was based on the Florida State Hospital located there. Upon further research, we found that there was a movie based on the mental institution called "Chattahoochee" (1989) starring Gary Oldman and Dennis Hopper, but not the Jack Nicholson film. 3 Dog Night Road Trip '08

We set out at 2pm. After loading up the car with our luggage and a huge bag of snacks. Do you think we had enough? But it's raining here and we are looking forward to some fun in the sun. So we set out, our first state is <B>Indiana</B>. Friday, 8/1 - Well, after many months of planning, the day has finally arrived. We left the house at 4:45pm and got on the road. Took Rte. 84 West until we hit Scranton, PA at about 7:30. We found an old fashioned diner and grabbed a bite. The place was packed, smelled of smoke (it's been a while since I've eaten in a place where smoking was allowed), but was an enjoyable meal. The first stop on my trip to Jordan and Egypt was to Jerash. My main reason for visiting Jordan was to see the location of the <B>Indiana</B> Jones and the Last Crusade, the famous red rose rock city of Petra. However as I did more research on the country I found out that there is a lot more to Jordan than just Petra. The land is strewn with old castles, sites from the Bible and even Roman cities. I wanted to provid a rundown of a trip my friends and I took to Atlanta over Memorial Day Weekend, 2007.
