Then Mughal Emperor Akbar wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his head quarters. So he built this majestic fort. But due to shortage of water he had to ultimately move his headquarters to Agra Fort.
Akbar had no child. It was told my local guide, that Akbar did a minnat to Mata Vaishno devi(?) and the Mata did not, as she was not in mood to sanction the tender of Akbar’s Putra Kamesthee.

After the blessing of Sufi Saint Salim Chisti he was blessed with a male child who became the heir to his throne, he was named Salim (after the name of Sufi Saint Salim) who later become Emperor Jahangir. (Have you watched K. Asif Movie, Mughl E Azam)
The tomb "Salim Chisti Ka Mazar" was built in honour of Sufi saint Salim Chishti in 1571 by Mughal emperor Akbar. Earlier it was built with red sand stone but later converted into beautiful marble mausoleum. This was built much later the Fatehpur Sikri Fort was built by Akbar.
Why any sane person go to this place, I will say just to watch Bulnad Darwaza. Bulanhd is a farsi word= high / Gigantic. Darwaza= Gate / Door.
It has 42 steps, and It is 53mx35m gate. I went down only 20 steps, to snap this, keeping in mind my age and my knees. Yet the image of the goat pained me. How our heritages are being looked after!
The Agra Darwaza, through which Tourist enter the courtyard. You have to leave your shoes here in reverence to Saint Salim.
These beehives are dated to Mughal Era, Thanks to Our ASI( Archaeological Society of India). They are on Buland Darwaza.

My Guide told me, these are hoofs of Lord Curzon's( Check WIKI for his misdeeds on Bengal) horse, which he pinned on Buland Darwaza in expectations of some earthly prayers.
And these are the hoofs of nth number of devotees, who were not as privileged as Lord Curzon!!!!
