Suddenly it struck me that I shd carry enough water if ever
I shd reach the top and that really helped me for taking rest on the way to these wonderful caves!
Inside these caves
It is Total Darkness
Each cave is so beautifully carved
I started wondering
Did they have Chisels & Hammers?
Or did they have Guns in their hands to threaten the Tigers on Prowl?
How did they do it?
I cdn't imagine when I entered one of these caves
that the hall can be so proportionately carved
and this one resembles exactly what we see in Ajantha Caves!
Cave No 10 and 13 seem to be important as per
ASI and I found every one of them is as important!
I didnt understand how they have created
in each of the Caves atleast 20 to 24 small rooms
and how they have carved out for each of the caves
a self sufficient water Tank at the front
(They are covered now lest kids might fall into them!)
and the place looks so beautifully merged with Nature ,even Today,
that certainly BUdhist Monks wd have really realised Moksha
some 2000 yrs ago here!
Dada Saheb Phalke Memorial as above
is a Landmark to reach these caves!
ASI has done a good job in preserving this place known 2000 yrs back
as Padam Nagar,and was ruled by Andhra Bhritya,a Budhist Ruler of that time ..It says their Time was very prosperous indeed and in cave no 20 there is still an inscription which says"NASIKANA DHARMIKA GRAMASDHYANAM'..meaning Nasik is a Religious Region..
well Many Sages,whether Budhists or Jains or HIndus
have walked this unique land of ours
when we are remembering TOday
Only PERIYAARS and Politciains!

Pandava Caves,9 KM near Nasik
Year : 50 B.C
No of Caves : 24
Height : 3000 feet above sea level
I travelled by an auto and alighted at Baba Phalke Memorial,built under these caves and looked at these Mountains for a minute!
