RanehFalls: 20 kms. from Khajurao, on the Ken river are the famous rock formations. The main attraction is the 5 kms. long, 100 feet deep canyon made of pure crystalline granite in varying shades of colour ranging from pink and red to grey. A series of seasonal waterfalls surrounded by jungle makes it an ideal picnic spot.

Ken Gharial Sanctuary: This is a natural home of the long-snouted variety of crocodiles, 24 kms. from the temples.
Ranch Waterfalls (20 km) :
Waterfalls on the Ken river, famous for rock formations.

Ken Nature Trail
These is a jungle track which is just 22 km from the Khajuraho city. The nature trail exhibits a bounteous beauty and imparts a charm of its own. Ken Nature trail is about 22 km from Khajuraho.


Benisagar and RanguanLake: Both are ideal picnic spots suitable for boatingand angling. They are 11 kms. and 25 kms. from Khajuraho respectively.

PandavFalls: A picturesque waterfall in a bowl-shaped valley on the KenRiver, 34 kms. from Khajurao.

Kalinjar Fort: 100 kms. from Khajurao is the fort which stands on an isolated hill of the Vindhya range 38 kms. away from Attara railway station. It is said that the fort was built during the period of the Guptas. Later the Chandela ruler Yasovarman, in the middle of the 10th century, captured it.

Gangau Dam
Situated some 34 km from Khajuraho. The dam is surrounded by the Panna National Park & Gangau Sanctuary

Getting There
By Air : The airport is at Khajuraho.The city of Khajuraho is well connected with Indian airlines. The flight is well linked and it flies thrice in a week from Delhi via Agra and Varanasi. From airport, you could hire an AC taxi or a non AC taxi or an autorickshaw which would help you get to your resort.
By Rail : Jhansi (172 kms) and Satna (117 kms) are the major railheads. You can easily take the Shatabdi express from Delhi to reach Jhansi which is the nearest railhead. From the station one can hire a cab to Khajuraho. It would take approximately 4 hrs to reach Khajuraho without stopping midway.
Where to Stay :
A few premier hotels run by M P S T D C are Hotel Jhankar, Hotel Payal, Hotel Rahil, TouristVillage, and Circuit House.
