We took a deluxe two by two tourist bus from Srinagar to Pahalgam.
We enjoyed the road journey as we got to see a lot of the countryside of Kashmir.
In Pahalgam we first went to a good air conditioned hotel but for very small rooms the rates were too high and there was no view.
So we went to another good hotel, the Natraj Hotel.
We got a bargain room with a view at Natraj.
We were happy with the corner room from where we a got a view of the hills and mountains around.
We wore the local Kashmiri costumes and got ourselves photographed.
We went to the market and had food at a Gujarati vegetarian restaurant.
We went to the banks of the Liddar River and enjoyed the scene of the water flowing past the rounded boulders.
We took a few memorable photographs.
We went to Chandanwadi and saw the route to Amarnath.
We were told that there is another beautiful place with a lake where we could go but we did not go due to tight schedule.
We returned to Pahalgam.
We went to sleep.
I got up early in the morning and felt that something was different.
I peeped through the glass panes of the room which had many windows.
I saw a whitish touch out there on the mountain.
I woke up the family and they were overjoyed to see that snow was there on the upper part of the mountain to the back of our room.
We noticed a distinct line below which the snow had melted.
This was because of the heat of the town of Pahalgam.
We had one more day either to spend in Pahalgam or to spend elsewhere before we took the flight from Srinagar back to Delhi.
There was talk amongst the other tourists that due to snow and bad weather the flights from Delhi and to Delhi and other places might be delayed or even cancelled.
We were given the option to go and visit Chandanwadi again as there was fresh snowfall there.
We chose this option and made another visit to Chandanwadi from Pahalgam.
