This ethereal cold desert that goes by names such as The Last Shangrila, Moonscape, Little....
On the far Northern flanks of India's Great Himalayan Mountains Range another great range runs nearly parallel from southeast to northwest. The highest peaks of the Zanskar Mountains like those of the Himalayas are perpetually covered in snow and screened by glaciers. Further to the East, the Ladakh Range parallels the Himalayas and the Zanskar. Eventually all three ranges run into the Karakorum Mountains that form the northeastern boundary of the Indian State of Jammu and Kashmir. The land between and among these ranges is known as Ladakh. It covers nearly 4,000 square miles and is separated from the Chang tang wilderness region of Tibet to the east by a disputed line on the maps of India and China.
It is known as 'Little Tibet' due the the fact that you would find majority of Tibetan Origin people around. Some say Ladakh is a Heaven on Earth, some say its the harshest place you could ever imagine, some people touch the skies by riding to Ladakh. We say, " THE LAND OF FORBIDDEN BEAUTY". You might ask me why I say that. Here is what I have to say, out of twelve months of the year this land is cut from the outside world more than half the year. The beauty of the mother nature comes at a cost of sacrifices. Tourist flock during summers to witness natures beauty at the same time natures fury.
The Altitude at which it is shredded is way above sea level, people do it the easy way by flying to Leh, some prefer driving down to such a place which takes minimum of 2 day with the luxury and comfort of four wheels. Now you would ask how do we end up in such places, What we do is test our limits of endurance and strength. We ride our motorcycles all the way to Ladakh and back.
