China trip plans

Hello, That's the great departure day... Luggages ready, camera ready to shoot, and excitation as the highest... We have our flight scheduled at 7pm at Newark Airport (NJ) to go to San Francisco Airport (CA). It will be a long day before we reach our hotel in Fisherman's Wharf. We may be a little surprised by the temperature there (15°C...). Midnight, arrival at the hotel in a chilled and cloudy night (13°C)... But everything is going as scheduled... Vacations can start!!! The Toyota Camry that we are renting has 9177 miles... It should have 12500ish in 2 weeks :). Now we will sleep as it is 3...

March 10 and March 11th, 2008 I wish I had been brave enough to tell my boss that I needed Sunday off to pack...but with already extending my one week vacation to almost three weeks...I went to work. I had been logging so many hours to meet all of my March deadines to make sure my adventure abroad was stress and guilt free. This is where I wish I could tell you how prepared I was and how easy it is to book all of your travel plans as a solo traveler for the first time to the other side of the planet...hop on a plane without care and voila! We left Lexington on time and had a nice trip to Charlottesville, Va. The Monticello took <B>us</B> a bit longer than we had planned, but it was well worth it. Admission was $15.00 and it included three tours. The home, the gardens and the slave tours. We did the first two. The garden tour was great as there were many varieties of plants, flowers, trees, and vegtables. The cherries were ripe, but all thast could be reached from the ground were already picked. We awoke quite early as we had a 8.30am Garuda flight to Singapore. Harry our driver came in at 5.45am and helped load all the bags. We set off soon after and reached the airport at about 6.35am. It was a reasonably smoothy process as in Jakarta you can hire a porter for a miniscule amount of money (approximately $2 Australian) and he takes all your bags through to the check in counter from the curb and does everything. Just trying to finish last minute details before we leave and testing out the yahoo journal. Ok, so we decided to skip Brooklyn and we went straight to DC... The ride done was fine, we didn't leave MA till about 4:30 - got over the GW Bridge about 7:30 and into DC sometime around midnight.
